On 3rd August 2025, the staff of the National Dairy Development Centre (NDDC) gathered at Tshaluna for a heartfelt picnic to bid farewell to two of our esteemed colleagues, Mr. Kanti Ram Chhetri and Mr. Abi Narayan Koirala, as they embark on their journey into retirement following their superannuation.
The event was filled with warmth, gratitude, and camaraderie as we celebrated their exceptional careers and outstanding contributions to dairy development. We were honoured by the presence of retired former Program Director, Dr. Lham Tshering, under whose leadership both retiring officials had served for many years.
To recognize their remarkable service, the Program Director and senior specialists presented Mr. Mr. Kanti Ram Chhetri and Mr. Abi Narayan Koirala with appreciation certificates from the Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) and the Department of Livestock (DoL). As a token of our deep appreciation and fond memories, the NDDC family also presented them with customary gifts.
Mr. Kanti Ram Chhetri, an expert in animal nutrition with a special focus on feed and fodder development, has played a pivotal role in enhancing animal feeding practices both on-farm and through extension services. His over 34 years of dedicated service have significantly shaped the feed and fodder sector in Bhutan.
Likewise, Mr. Abi Narayan Koirala, a specialist in farm management and animal breeding—particularly Artificial Insemination—has been instrumental in managing farm operations and driving the national breed improvement program. His over 34 years of commitment and expertise have made a lasting impact on dairy production and productivity.
Their combined legacy of dedication, expertise, and integrity has left a lasting impact on NDDC and the dairy sector at large. As they step into this new chapter, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and best wishes for a happy, healthy, and fulfilling retirement.
